Xin chào! Less than one week before Jim and I embark on our ten week journey through South-Eastern Asia! We've created this blog to share our experiences and photos along the way and to keep every one updated and informed that we are fine and enjoying ourselves.

Activities/Plans in Hong Kong
Since we aren't in Hong Kong for long we hope to maximize our site seeing in just 4 days. While we get adjusted to the time change (12 hours behind Ottawa time) we hope to visit Victoria Peak, the Song Tai Sin temple, the Man Mo temple, the Tian Tan Buddha, try going to a Chinese tea house and walk through the local markets.
Flight to Hanoi
On the 15th we will be leaving Hong Kong and heading to Hanoi, Vietnam.
HGK 1:25pm- HAN 2:25pm
We will be greeted by our driver at the airport and he will take us to the volunteer apartment located at Suite 903, No 1, 282 Linh Nam Street, Hoang Mai District, Ha Noi.
Hanoi
Still haven't gotten confirmation about what kinda of work we will be doing specifically all we know is that we will be working for a local NGO doing office work such as
        ■ Writing and editing documents
        ■ Fundraising,
        ■ Teaching English to the local staff,
        ■ Editing budgets
        ■ Organizing daily tasks for other volunteers
        ■ Promotion of the project (presentation of the project infront of donors)
Our work week will look something like this:

We have the weekends off to explore the city or travel to nearby destinations like perhaps Hoi An, Sa Pa and Ha Long Bay.
After
We finish our volunteer program on July 8th and we gave ourselves two weeks to travel; hopefully getting time to pass through Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. These details are not confirmed yet so further updates will come.
Flight Home
From wherever we end up we will have to fly back to Hong Kong and this is where our journey ends. July 25th HKG 7:35pm- YVR 4:20pm

  9. Two days before you leave! Are you all packed? A small first aid kit with familiar brands is comforting if/when needed. But don't worry too much about bringing everything you need. You can always buy things you find out you need once you are there.
